Oh, how we missed you cats and kittens. It’s been a solid two months since we got a full cast show in our regular theater, and we had so many surprises cooked up and ready for you! We opened the evening with an old pre-show favorite we like to call SOCCER PRACTICE. If you like seeing scantily clad dudes in varying states of fitness chip away at the already tenuous holds on their sexuality, oh man you were in for a treat.
We had several new cast members making their first appearance (including one particularly hot transie) and others making their debut in new roles. Erstwhile tech and photographer Phil Banker (that’s me, this is weird) performed as the Criminologist for the first time ever. LB alum Heather Sturdevant made a guest appearance as everyone’s favorite slut. Madame Leah performed as Dr. Frank-n-Furter for the first time in a while, stunning both the audience and even the cast with both her looks and her talent. When the master goes to work, you just sit and watch.
One highlight of the show was Rainbow, our newest Eddie, doing “the lift” for the first time in front of a crowd. If you’ve been to our shows before, you’ve seen our Eddies lifting Columbia in the air during “Hot Patootie.” That’s a hard move for anyone to accomplish for both Eddie and Columbia; one that everyone in those roles spends many hours practicing before showtime. Rainbow and Biondini nailed it, and we couldn’t be prouder.
There were a few rough spots in the show, a few stumbles here and there, but Saturday’s energy was high and both the cast and the crowd left happy. It was a perfect way to lead into our show this Friday, 10 p.m. at the beautiful historic Texas Theater! Be there and support your favorite Bastards in a new venue!
